The Candidate


The candidate should have thorough knowledge of the therapeutic area of oncology and hematology and be able to demonstrate in-depth expertise in the development, regulatory affairs or commercial aspects of oncology markets globally, especially in the EU and US. The candidate should have an excellent understanding of the treatment paradigms, the associated unmet needs, development and commercialisation strategies, and market trends

The candidate will play an integral role in executing consultancy engagements commissioned by the organisations biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical clients and will primarily work with EU and US East Coast-based clients and teams. This will be achieved through effective collection and analysis of competitor, market and stakeholder evidence.


The candidate must be well versed in the biomedical sciences and will preferably be able to demonstrate an understanding of at least one of the main therapeutic areas and the associated clinical development or commercialisation pathway. They will be a high-energy, results-oriented individual with a creative and analytical mind with the ability and desire to source relevant insight through secondary data analytics and human source evidence gathering. They must also possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and be able to operate effectively as part of a global team.

Responsibilities

As an Associate consultant within Prescient, the primary focus will be on:

 

  • Human Source Evidence Gathering: The collection of market, competitor and stakeholder evidence through desk-based interviewing and elicitation
  • Secondary Data Analytics: The sourcing, analysis and reporting of public domain information, be it scientific, clinical, commercial, corporate or market
  • Medical Meeting and Conference Coverage: The coverage of key medical meetings and conferences with the objective of speaking to a wide range of delegates on predetermined topics and the attendance of key symposia, presentations, posters and booths
  • Analysis and Reporting: Working with other members of the project team to analyse the findings and develop conclusions and recommendations
  • Project Management: Associate Consultants will be offered the opportunity to manage standalone projects across multiple therapeutic areas
  • Client Management: a component of the job role will also involve direct client interaction and client management
  • The candidate will spend 80% of his or her time in the Gurgaon office but will be required to spend about 20% for international travel to other Prescient offices, client visits, attend conferences etc.
  • He or she will report to a senior executive within the Gurugram/Gurgaon office.

 

  

Desired Skills and Experience


At least two years of relevant oncology experience gained from working within the healthcare analytics sector (i.e., CRO, equity research, M&A, finance), consultancy or the pharmaceutical industry is essential. Knowledge of immuno-oncology or immunotherapy will be an advantage and a working knowledge of the clinical development and regulatory processes is required.
The preferred candidate will have a MTech (Biotechnology or related areas)/ M.Pharma, MSc (life sciences stream) /MBA, MBBS or PhD (life sciences/healthcare) together with 2-3 years of relevant experience gained from within pharmaceutical/biotech organisations, academia or consultancy/market research. The candidate must also have excellent English language skills. International academic/work experience will be looked upon as an advantage.
