Job Description

Prescient has an opening for a full-time Market Research Manager, Stakeholder Insights to be based in our London office.

The Research Manager, Stakeholder Insights will be personally responsible for managing research programmes and generating insights from market research to answer client business questions in the context of a broader evidence platform. The position plays an integral role in project management, client management, the development of new client relationships and the management of strategic accounts alongside our clinical and disease-area experts. The Research Manager, Stakeholder Insights will manage market research initiatives associated with product development consultancy engagements. He or she will work in collaboration with scientific, medical, commercial and competitive intelligence colleagues.


The ideal candidate will be a high-energy, results-oriented individual with a creative and analytical mind who has the ability to manage and coordinate complex consultancy engagements through strong client and people management, subject-matter expertise, communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to draw conclusions and recommendations from a variety of pieces of evidence. He or she must also be able to operate effectively as part of a global team.


The primary focus of the Research Manager, Stakeholder Insights, will be on the following:

  • Research Management: Designing and managing all aspects of market research projects for international pharmaceutical and biotech clients. Providing solutions to client business questions using different market research methodologies and techniques. Assuming responsibility for proposal writing, project design, and the designing of recruitment screeners, discussion guides and questionnaires; fieldwork management, AE reporting requirements and data analysis; and report preparation and delivery
  • Moderation: Managing and engaging large groups of senior executives in workshops and interviewing clinicians and payers either by phone or in person, in one-on-one interviews as well as in groups. Acting as the researcher for non-English-speaking fieldwork, ensuring good moderator briefing and the gathering, development and analysis of key insights for the client
  • Project Management: The three-dimensional management of client engagements including design, planning, people management, evidence collection, analysis and reporting
  • Team: Mentoring and coaching more junior researchers/consultants; working closely with the Field Manager to ensure timely and efficient project delivery
  • Client Management: Working with other members of the project and account teams to ensure clients experience best-in-class customer service and that projects are run in a proactive, communicative and efficient manner
  • Research and Innovation: Being at the forefront of thinking about novel and appropriate research techniques for meeting client needs in line with Prescient’s positioning and strategy
  • Account Management and Business Development: Supporting account management initiatives, and ensuring repeat business from clients. Supporting business development efforts in terms of responding to RFPs and generating client satisfaction

Desired Skills and Experience

The successful candidate should have specific hands-on qualitative and/or quantitative pharmaceutical market research experience gained from within an agency or service provider.

The candidate should have a minimum of five to seven years’ experience within the pharmaceutical custom market research industry and have exceptional written and oral communication skills.

Very strong analytical skills are required, together with a very high level of proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and relevant statistical tools. We are a small non-hierarchical team, so a desire and ability to ‘muck in’ and get the job done, is essential.
