Job Description

Prescient has an opening for a Consultant in immunology to be based in our London office.

The candidate will play an integral role in executing consultancy engagements commissioned by Prescient’s clients. This will be achieved through the effective and efficient management of all aspects of the project.

The candidate should have thorough knowledge of the therapeutic area of immunology and rheumatology (rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis) and be able to demonstrate in-depth expertise in the development, regulatory affairs or commercial aspects of immunology markets globally, especially in the EU and US. The candidate should have an excellent understanding of the treatment paradigms, the associated unmet needs, development and commercialisation strategies, and market trends. The candidate should have knowledge of key marketed products and those in development, as well as challenges associated with development and commercialisation of both

The ideal candidate will be a high-energy, results-oriented individual with a creative and analytical mind. He or she should have the ability to manage and coordinate complex consultancy engagements through strong client and people management, subject matter expertise, communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to draw conclusions and recommendations from a variety of sources of evidence. He or she must also operate effectively as part of a global team.


The primary focus of the Consultant will be on:

  • Project Management: The three-dimensional management of client engagements including design, planning, client management, people management, evidence collection, analysis and reporting
  • Human-Source Evidence Gathering: The collection of market, competitor and stakeholder evidence through desk-based interviewing and elicitation
  • Conference Coverage: The coverage of key conferences with the objective of speaking to a wide range of delegates on predetermined topics, attendance of key symposia, presentations, posters and booths, and writing and delivering client reports and presentations following conference attendance
  •  Secondary Data Analytics: The sourcing, analysis and reporting of public domain information, be it scientific, clinical, commercial, corporate or market
  • Analysis and Reporting: Working with other members of the project team to analyse findings, develop conclusions and recommendations, and create client presentations that deliver a linear evidence-based story on the topics in focus
  • Client Management: Working with other members of the project and account teams to ensure the client experiences best-in-class customer service and that projects are run in a proactive, communicative and efficient manner

The Consultant will spend 80% of his or her time in the local office but will be required to undertake inter-office travel, visit clients’ offices and attend conferences.

Desired Skills and Experience

At least five years of relevant immunology experience gained from working within the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry or in consultancy is essential.

In-depth immunology knowledge is required. A working knowledge of the immunology clinical development process, currently marketed products and new products in development, along with an understanding of regulatory, commercialisation and access strategies and tactics, is required.

The preferred candidate will have a PhD, MSc, MBA or a higher degree in a life sciences discipline.
